Experience Ireland Your Way...
Ireland is a wonderful country to visit with so much choice of places to experience. If you have a preference to visit an area that is not included in my day tours, never fear, I can still look after you.
There are so many options but here are a few to whet your appetite
From Dublin to Glendalough and Kilkenny
This is a full day tour that takes you through the wonderful Wicklow mountains en route to glorious Glendalough (the glen of the two lakes). This beautiful valley was created by glaciers during the Ice Age thousands of years ago. Your trip will include a private guided tour of the monastery founded by St Kevin in the 6th century.
We then take you through Wicklow Gap on our way to the Medieval city of Kilkenny where you will visit Kilkenny Castle before your return journey back to Dublin. Contact me if you would like to find out more about this option.
A tour from Dublin to the Giant’s Causeway and Belfast
Created about 60 million years ago there are roughly 40,000 basalt multi-sided basalt pillars which form one of the ‘must see’ icons of Ireland. It’s a long trek from Dublin so an early start is advised to ensure that you get the most of the day. Included in the tour are some locations where Game of Thrones was filmed. You will also visit Belfast to experience how post troubles peace is contributing to the economy of the city. En route I will entertain you with stories and sagas that will help you understand the complex history of Northern Ireland and indeed the island of Ireland.
The Great Guinness tour of Dublin
Did you know that the Guinness Book of Records was a Guinness ‘product’. When Arthur Guinness founded his company in 1759, little did he realise that his name would be known throughout the world for its high quality ‘black’ beer and more besides. There is so much to the Guinness story that you will spend the day exploring the great Guinness heritage and its positive impact on the city of Dublin and much further afield. The tour includes a ‘Skip the Queue’ visit to the renowned Guinness Storehouse. This is a fun tour with lots of great Guinness stories and anecdotes that will amaze you.
A Literary Journey into James Joyce’s Dublin
You have heard of the novel Ulysses, you may have started to read it, you may have finished it and you may even have understood it, but this tour will take you one step further. On this full day tour around Dublin you will visit many of the locations associated with James Joyce, locations mentioned in Ulysses and the parts of Dublin that were forever etched on Joyce’s heart. The tour includes a visit to Sweny’s Pharmacy for a reading and Davy Byrne’s Pub for lunch. If you want some help understanding James Joyce and Ulysses, this is the tour for you.
